Week 11

Week 11

Despite the weather, today’s box screams summer. I like to envision you all opening your box and beams of sunlight pour forth. Corn, tomatoes galore, and squash (of course) tell us that despite this little hiccup in the weather, we are not ready for fall. The rain was certainly needed, but it is dampening the summer vibe (groan…bad pun.) The forecast shows a return of sun and warmth, so we can relax and view this rain as an aid in irrigation rather than a cause for irritation.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX:
corn
carrots
sweet onions
garlic
beets or chard
rosemary or basil
slicing cuke or green bell pepper
lemon cucumber
summer squash-an assortment
lettuce
potatoes-French fingerling
So.Many.Tomatoes! (early girl and chef’s choice)

SWIMMING IN VEGGIES
This is the fleeting time of abundance. So many things are cranking right now. If you want to can or freeze, we have basil, tomatoes, pickling cukes, beets, carrots, (and soon more beans). Visit our bulk produce page for pricing. If you would like to order some, send me an email.

There is not much new to report in the fields. We are just chuggin’ along, treading water, and gearing up for the big projects to come.

Enjoy your last few moments of summer. I know many of you have kiddos heading back to school. Best of luck with that transition!
